Ukraine International increased passenger traffic by 17% in the first 10 months of 2008 but pace of growth slows

In the period January to October 2008 Ukraine International Airlines carried 1.433 million passengers; 17% more than in the first 10 months of 2007. 

134,000 passengers were carried in October 2008; just 7% more than in October 2007.

The Airline’s Press Officer, Evgenia Satska said that “The slower pace of growth in October reflects a fall in demand resulting from the world economic crisis”.  

The passenger load factor in October 2008 was 70 %, an average up 6 points, in October 2007 – 64.4 %. 

In October 2008 UIA operated 1527 flights.

In October 2008, 535 tons of cargo and mail were carried.
