UIA presents Winter Timetable 2008/2009

On October 26, 2008 Ukraine International Airlines winter timetable 2008/2009 took an effect. It will be valid up to March 28, 2008. 

Flights scheduled for Winter 2008/2009 period will increase to 330 a week compared to 290 flights in the same period of the previous year. 

«According to our forecasts the passenger traffic will grow by 14%. This is a positive trend considering the difficult economic environment. - Sergey V. Fomenko, UIA Vice President Sales & Marketing said. – The Ukrainian air transportation market is still showing growth rates. The decrease of the world fuel price should be also mentioned among the factors positive for the airline business. If we can get reductions in Ukrainian fuel prices, UIA will be able to offer its passengers even more competitive prices with the highest services level.” 

The frequency of UIA own flights Kyiv-Vienna-Kyiv will reach 13 a week: the second flight on Saturday will be added to the timetable. The number of code share flights operated between Kyiv and Vienna together with Austrian Airlines will make up 27 flights a week (up to 4 flights a day). Besides that UIA will operate flights between Vienna and such Ukrainian cities as Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lvov, Odessa and Kharkhov. Thus the total number of flights between Ukraine and Austria will be 65 a week. 

Kyiv-Milan-Kyiv flights will continue to operate during winter season. Besides that UIA will operate Lvov-Rome flight and Lvov-Naples on Sundays. Kyiv-Rome-Kyiv flight will be operated 5 times a week with changed departure time from Boryspil, allowing better connections in Fiumincino Rome Airport. UIA together with the partners will operate 21 flights a week between Ukraine and Italy. 

The number of flights operated by UIA and partners between Kyiv and Amsterdam will be 21 flights a week (3 flights a day). 

The same number of flights – 21 a week and 3 a day – will be operated between Kyiv and Paris. 

Kyiv-London (Gatwick)–Kyiv flight frequency will be 10 a week. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays this flight will be operated twice a day. 

Kyiv-Brussels-Kyiv flight will be operated daily, except Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Kyiv-Dubai-Kyiv flight frequency will expand from 3 to 4 times a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. 

With winter timetable introduction the number of domestic flights operated by UIA and its partners had grown considerably. Kyiv-Simferopol- Kyiv flight will be operated 3 times a day. Kyiv-Dnepropetrovsk-Kyiv flight frequency will grow to 24 times a week (4 times a day during the week and 3 times a day on week-ends). Besides that UIA will operate flights from Kyiv to Ivano-Frankovsk, Kharkov, Odessa, Lugansk and Uzhgorod twice a day. UIA`s Kyiv-Lvov flight will be still operated daily (except Saturday). The domestic flights will be operated by UIA together with the partner – Dniproavia – on Embraer-145 and Boeing-737 aircraft. 

The new winter timetable provides the increase of UIA passenger charter flights by 7% on average compared to 2007/2008 winter navigation season. The winter season highlight is new Kyiv-Male (Maldives) flight. 

In cooperation with the leading Ukrainian tour operators Turtess Travel and Pegas Touristik UIA passengers will be offered the wide charter flights network from Kyiv to Egypt (Hurgada, Sharm el Sheikh and Taba). Scheduled charter flights to Hurgada and Sharm el Sheikh will be also operated from Zaporozhie, Lvov and Odessa. The charter flights frequency operated from these Ukrainian cities during 2008/2009 winter season will be up 9%. 

UIA charter flights program will include such popular tourist directions as Antalia (Turkey) and Forli (Italy) with flights operated weekly.

UIA in cooperation with Voyage Kyiv tour operator offer the New Year charter flights to Saltsburg (Austria), Rovaniemi (Finland), Lyon (France), Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Poprad-Tatry (Slovakia) and new direct flight to Toulouse (France) for devoted winter sports lovers. 

In cooperation with other Ukrainian tour operators, UIA offer flights from Kyiv to Geneva (Switzerland), Kuusamo (Finland) and to Mombasa (Kenya) during Christmas and New Year Holidays.
