UIA CANCELS FLIGHT PS611, 28.09.2020 TO YEREVAN
UIA proceeds from absolute apolitical, is guided exclusively by the security component and adjusts the flight schedule in accordance with flight safety requirements assessing the risks of flights to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict zone. Currently UIA decided to cancel the only flight to Yerevan, which was to be operated on September 28, 2020 at 17UTC.
Further decisions on each individual flight (the next flights to Yerevan on October 1 and 2 this year, as well as the first scheduled flight to Baku on October 4) will be made in accordance with the determination of the level of risks for flights 28 hours before departure.

UIA is expecting on the official explanations of the Ukrainian aviation authorities on the safety of flights in the conflict zone, which are mandatory for all Ukrainian air carriers, as well as on the recommendations of EASA.
Due to the escalation of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Risk Management Center of Ukraine International Airlines has decided to temporarily cancel flights to Yerevan.
The relevant decision was made by UIA specialists after a risk analysis during an evening briefing. The need for a precautionary measure is due to the imposition of martial law and mobilization in Armenia.
"Within the company we assessed all possible risks and decided that it is impossible to operate flights to Yerevan till the time our further actions will be explained by the aviation authorities of Ukraine and the official position of Baku and Yerevan to ensure the security of the airspace in the sky over Azerbaijan and Armenia," noted Eugene Dykhne, CEO UIA.
The UIA flight to Yerevan was scheduled for September 28, at UTC 5:00 p.m.
Representatives of the airline will ensure the necessary communication with the passengers of this flight and provide them with all the necessary support.
The airline applied for information to the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine. Further flights to Yerevan and Baku are planned to be operated according to the schedule, taking into account the information received from the aviation authorities.
The safety of passengers and crew is a constant priority for UIA.
