Starting 1 June 2012, UIA implements the new Piece Concept of free baggage allowance

30.05.2012

Please pay attention that starting June 1, 2012 UIA implements the new Piece Concept of free baggage allowance and excess baggage charges. Baggage surcharge system per every kilo of excess baggage is interchanged with a simpler and more convenient Piece Concept defining checked baggage allowance and excess baggage charges.

Dear passengers!

Please note that starting 1 June 2012, UIA implements the new Piece Concept of free baggage allowance and excess baggage charges. Baggage surcharge system per kilo of excess baggage (Weight Concept) is replaced by a simpler and more convenient Piece Concept defining checked baggage allowance and excess baggage charges.

The Weight Concept will be applied only to tickets issued up to 1 June 2012 for all UIA flights including charters.

The new Piece Concept will be applied to tickets (without exception) issued starting 1 June 2012 for all UIA flights including charters.

If your route consists of more than one segment operated by different carriers, the free baggage allowances and excess baggage charges of the first operating carrier shall be applied throughout the route.

EXCEPTION: On UIA flights operated according to the code-share agreement between UIA and KLM/Air France, the free baggage allowances and charges of code-share carrier designated in passenger ticket shall be used.

NOTE: In any case, the rules of carrier designated in the passenger ticket shall prevail.

Further details on the rules of baggage policy are available on UIA official website www.flyuia.com, UIA ticket offices, UIA ticket sales agents, check-in desks at the airport of departure or UIA Call Center in Kyiv at +380 44 581-50-50.

Sincerely, UIA
