UIA reports on the fulfillment of obligations to passengers
February 03, 2021: Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) reports for the next time on the number of processed passenger requests and the amount of refunds due to the cancellation of dozens of flights due to the impact of COVID-19.
With the onset of the pandemic, the airline has to operate with limited human resources, as Covid-19 shut down the aviation industry and reduced traffic to 15% of last year's volume, leading to the need to reduce the airline's staff.
Between April 2020 and January 2021, UIA paid back to passengers more than $ 26.5 million. In particular, in December 2020 and January 2021, UIA paid back more than $ 4.5 million. During 10 months of its activity under the influence of COVID-19, the airline has considered more than 101 thousand passenger appeals.
UIA emphasizes its readiness for an open dialogue with passengers and hopes that they will realize the situation. For their part, employees of all communication departments of UIA do everything possible to reduce the processing time of all requests.
The airline reminds that in addition to refunds for unused tickets, UIA has offered passengers of canceled flights several options to choose:
- Free change of the ticket;
- Promocode for the cost of the unused ticket. Promocode is valid for 2 years from the date of its issuance. This option allows using the money on a new ticket.
In addition, passengers with tickets issued on UIA forms can take advantage of the advanced features of the "Manage My Bookings" service, which allow passengers to change the flight date online. More details at the link.
