Winter skiing with UIA
Ukraine International Airlines invites you to open the 2009 European skiing season with scheduled flights to almost all the top European skiing venues
14th January 2009; Kyiv, Ukraine – Snow conditions in the top skiing resorts of Europe are reported to be some of best of the last decade. Ukraine International Airlines offers skiers a wide choice of flights to almost all of the major ski resorts of Europe.
Top of the list of UIA skiing destinations is Austria which has become a favourite place for Ukrainians to practice their downhill expertise. During this winter season the airline will operate two daily Kyiv-Vienna-Kyiv flights and up to four flights a day jointly with its partners. In addition, the airline operates flights between Vienna and Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lvov, Odessa and Kharkov, making a total of 65 flights between Ukraine and Austria a week.
For the first time UIA has introduced Kyiv-Milan-Kyiv flight which gives ski-lovers an easy access to the Dolomites, considered to be one of the most beautiful of European mountain ranges and the top resorts of the Italian Alps. With its partners UIA will operate three daily flights between Ukraine and Italy. The same number of flights will be operated between Kyiv and Paris, the starting point for the Northern Alpine region and the increasingly popular Pyrenean region. For the Spanish ski resorts UIA operate scheduled flights to both Madrid and Barcelona, for the German slopes regular flights to both Frankfurt and Berlin whilst for those who prefer to fly directly to the heart of the action then UIA have daily flight to Zurich.
For those who prefer cross country skiing then UIA operates daily flights to Helsinki providing a link through to ‘Rovaniemi’ and ‘Kuusamo’. Andorra is also gaining greater popularity among winter sports fans. Regular Kyiv-Barcelona flights are operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays offers a great opportunity to reach this alpine destinations. Similarly Georgia, though not strictly a European destination is regaining popularity as the winter holidays destination. Thanks to the regular Kyiv-Tbilisi flight, which UIA operates four times a week, Ukrainian skiers can easily reach winter resorts in the Caucasus.
For those who prefer warm weather skiing UIA now operate 4 flights a week to Dubai where the sand dune skiing and boarding are said to some of the best in the world.
