Attention transfer passengers with Ukrainian passports going to Canada via Tegel (Berlin)
If you are travelling to Canada via Berlin-Tegel International Airport (TXL), please take into account that there is no transit area at Tegel Airport. Meaning that passengers holding Ukrainian passports must present a Schengen visa or a biometric passport in order to transfer to their next flight to Canada. If a Schengen visa or a biometric passport is not available, such passengers will be refused transfer to the flight with destination to Canada and returned to their originating departure airport.
Attention transfer passengers going via Toronto
UIA provides its passengers with the opportunity to check in their baggage for the whole way through the final destination, if the passenger flies by transfer when travelling via Toronto. At that the passenger must get the baggage and pass the customs control. After that, the passenger can leave the baggage on a special baggage carousel.
