UIA summed up the payments to passengers in June-August
16.09.2021: Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) once again reports on the number of processed passenger applications and the amount of refunds due to the cancellation of dozens of flights due to the impact of COVID-19.
Thus, in the last three months of operation between June and August 2021, the airline considered about 48,100 refund requests and fulfilled its obligations to passengers for 10,588,000 USD.
As a result of work in crisis conditions from April 2020 to August 2021 (inclusive), the airline returned 51,571,000 USD, processing more than 210,000 applications.
"We have been living in a quarantine situation for a year and a half, as a result of which thousands of flights have been canceled. We are aware of the inconvenience this has caused to passengers. Moreover, although the cancellation of flights for the airline was a forced step, we are aware of our responsibility to passengers. Public reporting on the fulfillment of obligations is one of the components of our responsibility, "said CEO of UIA Yevhen Dykhne.
UIA emphasizes its readiness for an open dialogue with passengers and hopes for an understanding of the situation on the part of passengers. For their part, employees of all communication departments do everything possible to reduce the processing time of all requests.
The airline reminds that in addition to refunds for unused tickets, UIA has offered passengers of canceled flights several options to choose from:
- Free ticket renewal;
- Promo code for the unused ticket. The promo code is valid for 2 years from the date of its issuance. This option allows you to use the funds to issue a new ticket.
Also, passengers with tickets issued on UIA forms can take advantage of the advanced features of the "Booking Management" service, which allow passengers to change the flight date online. More details at the link.
