Due to global introduction of unprecedented measures aimed at preventing the spread of a coronavirus infection COVID-19, in particular, taking measures to limit international carriage by air, Ukraine International Airlines, in the circumstances beyond our control, cancelled thousands of own operated flights. The extent of cancelled flights is unprecedented in aviation history. Moreover, in pursuance of the quarantine requirements, enforced on the territory of Ukraine, our Contact Center is currently not taking any calls. Therefore, the load on other communication channels has increased immensely, and UIA fairly cannot process all applications within ordinary timeframes.
However, we are constantly working on the minimization of inconveniences caused to our passengers in the current situation and offer an alternative service to the passengers whose flights were cancelled due to measures aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, i.e. to get online a PROMO CODE in the amount of the full cost of an unused ticket (part thereof) with a 25% bonus to be used for future travels with UIA.
A Promo Code is an individual set of symbols authorizing its owner’s right to purchase UIA services in accordance with the procedure stipulated by these Rules.
A Promo Code par value for a fully unused ticket amounts to the full cost of the carriage for which it was purchased and an additional bonus of 25% of such cost.
A Promo Code par value for a part of an unused ticket amounts to the cost of an unused ticket (fare of an unused part of one-way carriage, unused airport fees (rates) and airline fees (rates) from the point where denied boarding took place to the point of destination) and an additional bonus of 25% of such cost.
Receipt by a passenger of a Promo Code is deemed a confirmation of his/her consent to reimbursement of air carriage cost by way of a Promo Code. UIA obligations regarding the reimbursement of the cost of an unused ticket is considered to be fully fulfilled and terminated since acquiring a Promo Code by a passenger.
UIA obligations regarding the Promo Code provided for in these Rules are separate obligations not related to the obligations of an unused ticket.
A Promo Code can be used to pay for a new ticket, including a fare and fees, or an additional service towards any scheduled UIA flight in any class of service. You can use a Promo Code when booking carriage or an additional service via www.flyuia.com during 2 years upon its issuance.
It is needed to fill out a form at www.flyuia.com to obtain a Promo Code. A Promo Code can be used within 2 years from the date of its issue. If a passenger for any reason did not use a Promo Code, he has a right, but not earlier than 2 years after a Promo Code was issued, to refund the amount for which a Promo Code was issued, except for the amount of an additional bonus, which was included to the nominal value of a Promo Code, sending a request to UIA within 3 months from the expiration of 2 years from the date of issuing a Promo Code. The amount for which a Promo Code was issued will be refunded within 7 days from the date of receiving such a request and the necessary passenger data for settlement.
A Promo Code is personalized, and can be generated in the passenger’s name indicated in a ticket/EMD regarding purchase of an additional service, or in the name of an owner of the bank card used to pay for a ticket/additional service to be refunded. To get a refund a person who paid for an unused ticket and / or an additional service (payer), should fill out an “OBTAIN A PROMOCODE” form.
Attention! To generate a Promo Code under the name of the cardholder with which the ticket/additional service is paid, please follow the link. First, you need to complete the payer data and continue filling out the form, adding the passengers’ details.
A Promo Code can be used only to pay cost of a ticket/additional service in the person’s name in which the Promo Code is generated.
A Promo Code can be used only once. If the full cost of a ticket/additional service is less than a par value of the Promo Code, an unused part of the Promo Code will not be retained, refunded or reimbursed.
If the full cost of a ticket/additional service is larger than a par value of the Promo Code, a passenger must pay a difference between the full cost of a ticket/additional service and a par value of the Promo Code.
A child ticket can be exchanged for a Promo Code only together with a ticket of an accompanying adult passenger. A Promo Code will be generated in the name of an adult passenger.
If a passenger does not wish to get reimbursement by way of a Promo Code, in order to get a refund of the cost of an unused ticket (part thereof) or an unused service, the payer must fill in the form «GET A REFUND».
IMPORTANT! Due to a large amount of requests which we currently receive, processing of a request for a refund of the cost of an unused air ticket may take up to 90 days.
The passenger who purchased a ticket/additional service using a Promo Code has all rights in accordance with the UIA Contract of Carriage, UIA Passenger and Baggage Carriage Rules.
