UIA improves Winter 2018/2019 Schedule
Ukraine International Airlines has finalized Winter 2018/19 Schedule.
Effective December 20, UIA will increase frequencies between Kyiv and Bangkok up to six weekly flights. Moreover, the airline will offer passengers to take advantage of triple-daily flights between Kyiv and Istanbul.
As previously reported, effective October 25, UIA expects to operate a number of flights between Kyiv and La Romana (the Dominican Republic). The flights will be operated every 10 days on Mondays and Thursdays. Effective December 27, UIA clients will be provided with an opportunity to reach yet another popular resort of Goa.
Meantime, frequencies between Kyiv and Almaty and Kyiv and Astana will be decreased from seven to four and three flights per week respectively.
In winter 2018/19, UIA will slightly decrease frequencies between Kyiv and the following European destinations: Ankara, Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Larnaca, London, Madrid, Milan (Bergamo), Prague, Riga, Rome, Stockholm, Venice, Vienna, and Vilnius. Frequencies of long-haul flights to Beijing and Toronto will be decreased by one and two weekly flights respectively. Minor reductions are expected on routes to Amman, Baku, Tbilisi, Tehran, Tel Aviv, and Yerevan. UIA will also cut frequencies of non-stop international flights from Ivano-Frankivsk to Valencia and Alicante, as well as from Lviv to Madrid. Simultaneously, the carrier will be operating by one weekly flight less on domestic routes from Kyiv to Kharkiv and Lviv.
βOur decision to optimize winter schedule is based on profound potential demand analysis and cost-benefit calculations. For instance, in winter we are increasing flights frequency between Kyiv and Bangkok to meet the growing demand of both point-to-point and transit passengers traveling from European cities via Kyiv.β β noted Sergey Fomenko, UIA Vice President Commerce.
Winter schedule improvement is motivated by low-seasonal demand and temporary fleet reduction due to the airlineβs ongoing program to change Boeing 737 Classic for Boeing NG aircraft. Therefore, Winter 2018/19 Schedule is adapted to potential demand with due regard to statistics and performance analysis of previous years.
