UIA received the second Boeing 777 aircraft

Friday, May 4, Ukraine International welcomed the second of four wide-body long-haul Boeing 777-200ER aircraft into its fleet. The plane received the UR-GOB registration number.

The aircraft accommodates 361 passengers in three-class cabin configuration, i.e. Business Class, Economy Premium Class, and Economy Class. UIA will operate the aircraft on routes between Kyiv and New York, Beijing, and Bangkok. The UR-GOB is leased from the world’s leading lessor AerCap that will deliver two more Boeing 777-200ER aircraft by 2018 year-end.

The aircraft is equipped with Panasonic Corporation AVOD (Audio Video On Demand) individual IFE system. Every seat is equipped with personal screen with a vast content menu, which includes over 80 feature movies, works of Ukraine’s cinematograph, TV shows, children's films, and cartoons. Entertaining content is available for viewing in Ukrainian, English, Russian, Chinese, French, Hindi, and other languages.

Moreover, great functionality of the multimedia system makes possible to track the aircraft in real-time mode by using the interactive touch-sensitive 3D-map with 3D globe image, 100 city guides, including 20 cities of Ukraine, Kids map – Animals App, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity.

The aircraft cabins are equipped with Bruce Aerospace Sky Interior modern lighting system, which creates a special atmosphere and the most comfortable conditions for the passengers during the flight.

“The growth of the long-haul fleet by adding the second Boeing 777-200ER will significantly increase the level of comfort for passengers traveling long distances, - noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Communications Director. The qualitatively new product of UIA will be interesting both for Ukrainian and for transfer passengers, and will raise the attractiveness of the Boryspil International Airport as a hub and attract new transit flows to Ukraine”

UIA keeps enhancing the long-haul fleet. Two more Boeing 777s are scheduled to arrive in Q2 – Q3 2018, one of them is expected to join the UIA fleet in late May.

UIA operates 43 aircraft including 29 medium haul Boeing 737 NG aircraft with the average age of 9 years. Currently, UIA fleet’s average age amounts to 11.4 years.
