Cappadocia is a historical region in central Anatolia, in the heart of Turkey, with hot, dry summers and snowy winters. It was formed millions of years ago when volcanic lava filled the entire valley. Then the sun, wind and water carved mysterious sculptures from the rock, turning the region into the country's most famous landmark.

Tourists from all over the world come here not only to enjoy the scenery while flying a hot air balloon. What else do you need to see when you go to Cappadocia?

Goreme Open Air Museum. Come here to explore the ancient chapels and churches carved in stone. Some churches still have delightful Byzantine frescoes. The museum is 1 km from Göreme.

Ihlara Canyon. At the bottom of the canyon about 15 km long, there is the Melendiz River and stone churches carved in its walls. The canyon is located 100 km from Göreme. To get to this attraction, you can rent a car or book a tour to Cappadocia, which includes a canyon.

The underground city of Derinkuyu. Derinkuyu is one of the deepest underground cities in Turkey. At a depth of 55 mm, researchers found eight floors with ancient churches, schools, living quarters, kitchens and wine cellars. Derinkuyu is 40 km from Göreme.

Uchisar Fortress. Uchisar is a city which consists of rocks with many windows and interior spaces. A fortress rises above the city, which is the highest watchtower of historical Cappadocia. The fortress is located just 3 km from Göreme.

Volcanic lake Nar. Come here not only to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, but also to enjoy a vacation in the thermal springs. There are thermal hotels in the lake area. The lake is 65 km from Göreme.
