UIA has completed the 100th jubilee overhaul on Boeing aircraft at its own maintenance base

15.11.2010

November 14, 2010 Ukraine International Airlines has successfully completed the 100th jubilee C-check (time-consuming maintenance) of a Boeing 737. Over the last 10 years 100 Boeing aircraft have passed C-checks at UIA`s own maintenance base at Kyiv Boryspil International airport.

In 2002 Ukraine International Airlines became the first airline in the CIS to be fully certified to JAR-145 (Europe`s Joint Aviation Regulatory Standards for aircraft maintenance and overhaul), thus UIA was enabled to perform full maintenance services on Boeing aircraft. Ukraine International Airlines is currently the only airline in Ukraine performing all kinds of aircraft maintenance and overhaul. UIA`s strong technical base allows not only maintenance of its own fleet, but also to perform aircraft maintenance support services for other airlines in the region. For instance, since 2005 - the commencement of support services for other airlines - Belavia (Belarus), Aerosvit (Ukraine), KD Avia (Russia), Georgian Airways (Georgia) and UTAIR (Russia) have become UIA`s clients.

“Today UIA is Ukraine`s recognized leader in aviation equipment maintenance, we`ve been performing integrated maintenance support on Boeing aircraft for the past 10 years - since November 2000, - said Alexander Saustenko, UIA Vice-president Technical maintenance. - Over the years we have significantly expanded our maintenance base for Heavy Maintenance as well as metal and composite structures and aircraft interiors. All of these achievements have allowed us to increase the volume of engineering services and to expand our client base. The 100th jubilee C- check is not only an impressive figure but also the start of a new phase – we will shortly perform scheduled maintenance on a Boeing 737-800 New Generation aircraft”.
