Terms and conditions of hand luggage carriage

ATTENTION! In accordance item 13.13.6 of the UIA Passenger and Baggage Carriage Rules, the terms and conditions of UIA hand luggage carriage have been changed. New terms and conditions of hand luggage carriage will apply to passengers who purchased air transportation from 01 November 2018 for departures from 15 January 2019. In addition to hand baggage, the following items can be carried on board free of charge:

  • 1 handbag or purse;
  • 1 small camera or binoculars;
  • 1 personal laptop;
  • reading material;
  • 1 umbrella or walking stick;
  • 1 overcoat;
  • 1 pair of crutches.

The total weight of these items shall not exceed 5 kg.

Passenger with infant (child under 2 years old)

  • 1 travel-size bag (per infant) containing clothing, disposable toiletries, soft toys and baby food. Total dimensions up to 55 х 40 х 20 сm; weight up to 5 kg.
  • 1 fully collapsible baby stroller / pushchair or 1 car-type child seat which may be carried in passenger cabin.

The designated UIA hand luggage allowances apply on UIA flights for all passengers including transfer passengers regardless of other airlines' involvement in the carriage on their route.

Note for Business class passengers: Business class passengers whose route includes both zones 1-2 and 3-4, can carry two pieces of hand baggage with the total weight of up to 15kg. Exception: Due to lack of free space to store hand baggage in the passenger cabin on flight operated in zones 1-2, you may be asked to put your hand baggage for carriage in the aircraft hold. You will receive your hand baggage at the aircraft exit upon arrival at the transfer airport.

Attention! Please take into account security rules for liquids in hand baggage when travelling from/via EU, UK, USA, Zurich, and Boryspil airport.
