UIA launches the carnival season
In February-March 2009 Ukraine International Airlines invite its passengers to visit the brightest carnivals of Europe. The most exiting and grandiose show of the winter season in Italy is considered to be the Carnival of Venice - February 14-25 this year.
From 12th to 15th February the chocolate fair Cioccolentino will take place in Terni.
Having regaled with chocolate one can go to San Remo, hosting the Italian equivalent of the Eurovision song festival on February 20th - March 1st.
Ukrainian women of fashion should go directly to Milan where the 2009/2010 autumn/winter fashion week will take place from February 25th to March 4th. Dozens of shows and presentations, exposing the newest collections of clothes, shoes, assessors and jewelry are waiting for the guests.
The carnival capital of Germany truly is Cologne though street festivities are rolling all over the country: Düsseldorf, Mainz, Munich and Bremen. This year the Cologne carnival will take place from 19th to 25th February.
The capital of Germany – Berlin – invites film lovers to visit one of the main cultural events of the year - Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). The 59th festival runs in Berlin from February 5th to15th.
Not less spectacular are the festivals in Holland across the country from 1st till 28th of February. But the most demanding connoisseurs should go to Maastricht. The biggest carnival in Netherlands will take place here on February 22-24. Those who have missed the show may travel to Maastricht a week later. On March 1-15 this Dutch city will entertain its inhabitants and numerous guests during the Beer Fest.
Finland is the country to host the ice festival. On February 18th the 4th ‘Ice Castle’ festival will be opened in the city of Savonlinna. During this fest the main attraction of the city – the medieval castle Olavinlinna, decorated with glacial sculptures will invite the newlyweds to dance at a Glacier Ball.
