UIA delivered flu masks to Ukraine

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) delivered one million flu masks weighing a total of 4 tonnes free of charge from Frankfurt am Main to Kyiv. The masks will help to prevent the spread of the viral infection in Ukraine.

The humanitarian cargo has been delivered by Ukraine International Airlines free of charge at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine as part of the anti-epidemic program. The cargo was delivered in three consignments from Frankfurt to Kyiv on the regular non-stop PS 402 flights on the 6th, 7th and 8th of November.

“Quick distribution of the masks among the Ukrainian population will help to prevent the spread of the flu epidemic in the country. This will save many lives,” – as noted in the letter of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

UIA has followed a consistent policy of social responsibility throughout the 17 years of its history. At the moment the company is ready to use all possibilities and resources to fight influenza epidemics in Ukraine and to render assistance to people suffering from the disease.
