UIA reports about passengers refunds
December 08, 2020: An outbreak of coronavirus infection has particularly affected the global aviation industry. COVID-19 has led to unprecedented quarantine measures. All airlines in the world were forced to suspend their operations for several months due to the decisions of their own governments, canceling thousands of flights. This has led to an unprecedented accumulation of outstanding commitments to passengers.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has offered several to solve this problem:
- Re-issuance of a ticket for other dates without any penalties;
- Registration of a promo code for 125% of already paid cost, which is valid for 2 years from the date of its issuance. This option allows you to use the money already spent on a new ticket;
- Refund money of the canceled flight to the bank account.
With the onset of the pandemic, the Customer Support Center receives thousands of inquiries every day. UIA has summed up the results of the claims of passengers who received a full refund in connection with the flights cancellation through COVID-19.
Between April and November 2020, 85,861 passenger requests were processed and a refund of almost $ 22 million. So far, about 56,000 unprocessed applications have been registered. UIA staff carefully records each application and processes them in turn.
The airline does its best to process each requests as soon as possible.
