Arriving in Ukraine

Immigration Forms

Prior to or upon landing in Ukraine all non-Ukrainian citizens shall complete an immigration form (click her for a copy). Forms are available on-board from our cabin crew or at your arrival airport.  Fill out both the Arrival and Departure information and present the form to the Ukraine Immigration Officer at border control.  Please retain the Departure section and present it upon departure. 

Customs Clearance

Ukraine operates a Red and Green customs system.  Non-residents arriving into Ukraine may use the Green channel provided they are carrying no more than:

  • EUR10,000 in cash
  • 1 litre of spirits
  • 2 litres of wine
  • 5 litres of beer
  • 200 cigarettes OR 250 grams of tobacco OR 50 cigars
  • Food products for personal use valued up to EUR50

Do not transport any meat products into Ukraine – these are not allowed into the country.

Luggage trolleys are available in the baggage claim area, free of charge.

Transfer at Kiev Boryspil Airport

If you are a transit passenger in Kiev Boryspil Airport (KBP), please be aware of the following procedures:

International to International Connections:

When transiting from an international flight to another international flight on UIA or one of our partner airlines**:

  • Baggage is checked through to your final destination, and passengers are issued  boarding passes at origin airport
  • If the connecting flight is operated from another terminal at Kiev Boryspil Airport, contact UIA Ground Personnel at the UIA Transfer Desk who will assist with your transit to the correct terminal for your departing flight
  • Do not proceed to baggage claim, as your bags will be transferred to the connecting flight
  • If you do not have your connecting boarding pass, please ask our UIA Transfer Desk to issue a boarding pass for you.
  • Proceed to security control and your gate as normal.

While waiting for your connecting international flight, why not visit the Kiev Duty Free Shop or cafe?  Or, when flying Business Class, relax in our lounge when time permits.

Domestic to Domestic Connections:

When travelling via Kiev to another domestic destination you will arrive at Terminal B:

  • Baggage is checked through to your final destination, and passengers are issued  boarding passes at origin airport
  • Upon arrival at Kiev Boryspil Airport, proceed to the Transfer Area at Terminal B (your arrival terminal)
  • Do not proceed to baggage claim, as your bags will be transferred to the connecting flight
  • If you do not have your connecting boarding pass, please ask our UIA Transfer Desk to issue a boarding pass for you.
  • Proceed to security control and your gate as normal.

Domestic to International Connections

Attention transfer passengers flying UIA to international destinations via Kiev Boryspil International Airport:

  • If you DO NOT HAVE any items to declare in your baggage or required for your journey
    • Check-in your baggage to the final destination and receive your second boarding pass for your connecting flight departing from Kiev Boryspil International Airport.
    • Upon arrival at Kiev Boryspil Airport proceed from the aircraft to a UIA TRANSFER bus which will take you to Terminal D.
    • At Terminal D, proceed to security and passport controls to continue your journey.

  • If you HAVE any goods to declare in your baggage:
    • Check-in your baggage to Kiev.
    • Upon arrival at Kiev Boryspil Airport proceed to a bus which will take you to Terminal B.
    • Collect your baggage at Terminal B and take a free Shuttle Bus to Terminal D.
    • At Terminal D, proceed to customs control points located by check-in desks.
    • Check in and drop off your baggage.
    • Proceed to security and passport controls to continue your journey.

International to Domestic Connections

Attention transfer passengers flying UIA to Ukraine's cities via Kiev Boryspil International Airport:

  • If you DO NOT HAVE any items to declare in your baggage or required for your journey:
    • Check in your baggage to the final destination and receive your second boarding pass for your connecting flight departing from Kiev Boryspil International Airport.
    • Upon arrival at Kiev Boryspil Airport proceed to passport control at Terminal D.
    • Take a free Shuttle Bus to Terminal B.
    • At Terminal B, go through security control and proceed to your boarding gate.

  • If you HAVE any goods to declare in your baggage:
    • Check in your baggage to Kiev.
    • Upon arrival at Kiev Boryspil International Airport, proceed to passport control at Terminal D.
    • Collect your baggage at Terminal D and proceed to customs control (red corridor).
    • Take a free Shuttle Bus to Terminal B with your baggage.
    • At Terminal B, check in and drop off your baggage, go through security control and proceed to your boarding gate.

Shuttle bus service between terminals

Opposite each terminal's exit there is a free Shuttle Bus service. Shuttle busses run every 10 minutes. Approximate journey time is 5-7 minutes.
