Passengers with reduced mobility

+ One wheelchair per person (any wheelchair type, weight and size) and/or other assisting devices they are dependent upon, irrespective of service class.

Sporting equipment

On all UIA flights irrespective of service class the maximum weight of each sporting equipment set acceptable for carriage free of charge is 23 kg (provided that you carry no other piece of checked baggage). The weight in excess of 23kg up to 32kg shall be paid (please, see Excess baggage charges below).
Please note: You can carry one set of ski equipment (up to 23kg ) FREE OF CHARGE on all UIA flights in addition to free checked baggage allowance. Please, see “Sporting Equipment” for more information.

Standard checked baggage allowance is applied (please, see above).

Animals

Carrying of animals is always subject to payment. Exception: Specially trained service animals accompanying passengers with reduced mobility are carried free of charge.

* “Panorama Club” members can carry 2kg in addition to each piece of checked baggage, but not exceeding 32kg.

** This allowance applies on tickets to/from USA issued from 13 February 2014 onward. General allowance for economy class (1 piece) applies on tickets issued before 13 February 2014.

1. The following sporting equipment is considered as bulky and shall be carried as cargo:

  • bicycles-tandems;
  • surfboards longer than 300 cm;
  • vaulting poles;
  • spears;
  • oars;
  • hang gliders;
  • other bulky sporting equipment, and any sporting equipment heavier than 32 kg (70 lbs).

The above list is not complete and it gives an idea of what exactly sporting equipment can be considered as bulky.

2. If a musical instrument weight is in excess of 32kg (70lb) and/or it is larger than 300cm (118 in) (length + width + height) it must only be transported as cargo.

Exception: A double bass will still be accepted in checked baggage even if it exceeds the maximum dimensions.

Definitions of zones:

Zone 1: All domestic flights within Ukraine.

Zone 2:

  • Europe (except Ukraine),
  • European part of Russia, part of Russia located in Asia, including Siberia, with the exception of the Far East;
  • Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan;
  • Middle East: Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Oman, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Qatar, Israel, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia;
  • North Africa: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia.

Zone 3:

  • Russia Far East (Russia Far East federal district): Magadan Region, Primorye Territory, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Sakhalin Region, Khabarovsk Territory, Chukchi Autonomous District;
  • India, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, China, North Korea, South Korea, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia;
  • USA, Canada.

Zone 4: The rest of the world.

Calculation method:
Dear passengers, if your route includes segments located in the different zones, the excess baggage charge is calculated according to the rate of the zone with the maximum number and applies to entire route (one way).

Examples:

  • Donetsk – Kiev – Lvov: the rate of Zone 1 applies;
  • Simferopol – Kiev – Frankfurt: the rate of Zone 2 applies;
  • Odessa – Kiev – Bangkok: the rate of Zone 3 applies;
  • Zurich – Kiev – Melbourne: the rate of Zone 4 applies.

If several fees apply to a piece of baggage, all of the relevant rates must be added together.

Please, note: Service fee can be charged at a ticket office for a payment of extra baggage.

Notes: If your route includes segments operated by different carriers the free baggage allowance and excess baggage charges of the first operating carrier will apply throughout the route. Exception: On UIA flights operated under the code-share agreement with KLM/AF the checked baggage allowance and charges of the code-share carrier shown on your ticket will apply.

In any case the rules of the carrier designated in your ticket shall prevail.
