UIA is recognized the best Ukrainian airline of 2010

According to the annual journalistic poll „Ukrainian Tourism as viewed by the Ukrainian Press” Ukraine International Airlines was recognized the best national airline of 2010.  

Ukraine International Airlines has become an associated member of the Ukrainian Peace Council

November 16, 2010 Ukraine International Airlines has been certified as an associated member of the Ukrainian Peace Council – an organization uniting the efforts of the community to establish peace and conciliation in Ukraine and beyond its borders. Yuri Miroshnikov, UIA President, has become a member of the Presidium of the Ukrainian Peace Council.  

UIA launches celebratory promotion dedicated to its 18th anniversary

Within the period of 1 to 30 November 2010 Ukraine International Airlines is making available 18 000 seats on its scheduled flights at a special round trip fare of 180 USD. Passengers will be able to make a trip up to the end of March 2011*.  

UIA has completed the 100th jubilee overhaul on Boeing aircraft at its own maintenance base

November 14, 2010 Ukraine International Airlines has successfully completed the 100th jubilee C-check (time-consuming maintenance) of a Boeing 737. Over the last 10 years 100 Boeing aircraft have passed C-checks at UIA`s own maintenance base at Kiev Boryspil International airport.  

UIA transfers its international flights to the new Terminal F at Kiev Boryspil airport

Commencing October 30, 2010 all international flights of Ukraine International Airlines will be operated to and from the new Terminal F at Kiev Boryspil International airport.  

UIA opens ticket sales for a new flight from Kiev to Goa

Ticket sales for flights connecting Kiev and the capital of the Indian state of Goa – the city of Panaji – are open in UIA offices, ticket agencies and via the UIA website

UIA carried a record number of passengers in August

UIA operates its first flight Donetsk - Dubrovnik - Donetsk

Saturday, June 5, Ukraine International Airlines operated its first direct flight Donetsk - Dubrovnik - Donetsk. Opening a regular flight to Croatia is conditioned by growing demand of the Eastern Ukraine in direct regular connection with European resorts. Such connection is especially important in the height of summer holiday season.  

UIA opens direct air connection between Donetsk and Lvov

Wednesday, June 2, Ukraine International Airlines operated its first direct flight between Donetsk and Lvov. Opening a regular air connection between the Eastern and Western Ukraine is aimed at strengthening business, tourist and friendly ties between the two regions.   

Joint promotion between UIA and the Ukrainian Hotel groups of Premier Hotels and Accord Hotels

Commencing May 2010, a joint promotion has been launched between Ukraine International Airlines and the Ukrainian hotel groups – Premier Hotels and Accord Hotels.

UIA carries exotic passengers to Tbilisi

May 13, two lions and a cheetah from South Africa were transported on UIA flight PS 470 from Zurich to Kiev, followed by another UIA flight PS 727 from Kiev to Tbilisi. Besides, an African civet from Tanzania was also transported by UIA on May 18. Transportation of these exotic animals was carried out under the UIA "Professional cargo solutions" program – specially accompanied airfreight of animals is just one of these solutions.  

UIA expands its fleet with the fourth Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft

On May 8th a new Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft arrived at Kiev Borispol International Airport from Seattle (USA). The new Boeing is the fourth aircraft of this type to join the fleet of Ukraine International Airlines in the last ten months.  

UIA operated its first flight Kiev - Donetsk - Kiev

Wednesday, April 28, Ukraine International Airlines operated its first non-stop scheduled flight Kiev - Donetsk - Kiev. Flights are operated by UIA`s modern Boeing 737 aircraft in two class cabin configuration – Business class and Economy class.  

Ukraine International Airlines operate full schedule

After a week of serious disruption to air transport Ukraine International Airlines are happy to report that the airline has resumed its full operation of scheduled and charter flights.  

UIA operated all delayed charter flights

During Sunday, April 18, Ukraine International Airlines operated all charter flights from Ukraine, which were delayed due to eruption of volcano in Iceland. This force-majeure situation, occurred at the end of last week, has led to the closure of the vast majority of airports and airspace throughout Europe and Ukraine.  

UIA’s new direct flight Kiev – Almaty is now open

On April 5, Ukraine International Airlines operated its first direct scheduled flight from Kiev to Almaty. The return UIA flight landed this morning in Kiev’s International Boryspil Airport.   


UIA Passengers may now take advantage of another unique opportunity: when purchasing tickets on UIA flights to Berlin or Frankfurt, they can now comfortably and quickly travel around Germany on high-speed Deutsche Bahn trains.   

UIA sells redeemed shares

Ukraine International Airlines announced today that it had resold the shares it redeemed from former shareholder AerCap. The 32,500 shares, which make up 5.97% of the airline’s equity, have been sold to a Ukrainian investment company.  

From Kiev to Emirates – six times per week!

Ukraine International Airlines has increased the frequency of its direct regular flights between the capital cities of Ukraine and UAE.   

UIA offers new opportunities for travel during Summer 2010

The summer IATA-2010 flight schedule came into operation 28 March 2010 and will run through 30 October 2010. During the summer Ukraine International Airlines will offer its passengers new opportunities for air travel to Europe, the Persian Gulf, the Middle East and within Ukraine.  

UIA returns to Donbass

During the summer schedule Ukraine International Airlines will begin operating new direct regular flights from/to Donetsk. Both regular domestic flights connecting Eastern Ukraine with Kiev and Lvov and regular international flights Donetsk - Dubrovnik and Donetsk - Rome will appear in UIA’s summer schedule. Charter flights from Donetsk to Antalya will also be launched by UIA.   

UIA delivers unique icons from Ukraine to Germany

Ukraine International Airlines has delivered early Christian icons from the collection of the Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko Arts Museum to an exhibition, which opens today, February 26, in Bonn, Germany.   

UIA closes 2009 with a net profit of UAH 7.9 million

Income from normal operations of the Closed Joint Stock Company Ukraine International Airlines in 2009 totalled UAH 2.2 billion, up by 16% on 2008 (UAH 1.9 billion)

UIA carried the world-famous theater of shadows Pilobolus with its legendary Shadowland show, which is on today, on February 23, to Ukraine on its regular flight PS622 Helsinki – Kiev.  

UIA expands its fleet with the third Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft

On February 20th a new Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, delivered from the Boeing plant in Seattle, landed at Boryspil International Airport. This is the third aircraft of this type to join the fleet of Ukraine International Airlines in the last seven months.

UIA is the best passenger airline in Ukraine 2009

According to the results of the annual survey “Ukrainian tourism as viewed by the Ukrainian press”, organized by the “Tourist Press-Club of Ukraine” journalists’ association, Ukraine International Airlines was named the best passenger airline of 2009 in Ukraine.
